Kindergarten Connection
Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa
Last Week
We sure enjoyed the school wide Dance Party on Tuesday for running our school goal of laps. Due to the weather it was in the Gym. It was still loads of fun dancing with Mrs. Bawks, Mr. Pratley and all the grades! We loved the Ice cream treat we received too! Be sure to take a look at the trophy we won in our classroom. We are quite proud of it 😊.
Our trip to Sarett was great! We learned about many different animals that live in our Michigan forests. During the hikes we learned many plants and saw signs of animals in action.
All NWEA testing is complete. It is a good feeling for us all 😊. Results will come to you with your child's final progress report in June.
Happy, happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and significant grown ups in our lives! I hope you realized how important and loved you are ❤!
(I hope all the gifts made it home in one piece.)
Snack and Leaders
Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

Due to allergies, please refrain from sending snacks that contain any kind of nut. If you are able to send Gluten free snacks that would be great too. Thank you!
We will snack in the morning each day. It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day. Thank you for sending a leak-proof water bottle with your child each day.

Next Week
Please, please work on sight words and reading each day! The end of the year is fast approaching and our hope is that all/most of our 56 words are known before beginning 1st grade. I am so happy to send another set of flash cards to anyone in need. Thank you for working together to attain this import goal and standard for your child.
The Positivity Project trait next week is learning Other People's Feelings.
Our next Guest Reader will be Mr. VanderVeen on Wednesday, May 11 at 3:15. Please bring 3-4 books to share with the class. We look forward to having you! 😀
In appreciation of our beautiful student artwork, we will hold the first Elementary Art Show at Brown Elementary School! You, your family, and your friends are invited to the opening reception Thursday, May 12th, from 4:00 – 5:30 PM. The opening reception is a celebration to mark the start of the show. You may stop in ANY TIME during the opening to see both your child’s artwork and artwork from other elementary students in our school. We hope to see you there!
