Kindergarten Connection
Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa
Last Week
If you have not been at school in the last few weeks, you probably have not seen our new Sensory Track. This is something we have been hoping for and working on for quite some time. There are stickers on the floor and walls that create a specific movement track down the hallway. It is to be done quietly, 1 person at a time. This allows children to take a break and re-energize their minds for learning. We gave it a try as a class last week to be sure we all knew how to go through it. Be sure to ask your child about our new Sensory Track.
Here is the link to our introduction to the Track. Sensory Track Demo Video
Snack and Leaders
Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

Due to allergies, please refrain from sending snacks that contain any kind of nut. If you are able to send Gluten free snacks that would be great too. Thank you!
We will snack in the morning each day. It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day. Thank you for sending a leak-proof water bottle with your child each day.

Next Week
Please, please work on sight words and reading each day! The end of the year is fast approaching and our hope is that all/most of our 56 words are known before beginning 1st grade. I am so happy to send another set of flash cards to anyone in need. Thank you for working together to attain this import goal and standard for your child.
Tuesday, 5/17-Morning with my Main Character Donut Event on the playground from 7:45 - 8:30 a.m. - please join us!
Our next Guest Reader will be Mrs. Wells on Wednesday, May 18 at 3:15. Please bring 3-4 books to share with the class. We look forward to having you! 😀
I will be assessing the students one on one this Thursday. I love spending this time and seeing all the learning that has taken place. As I mentioned above, please work on those sight words. 📖
