Kindergarten Connection
Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa
Last Week
The only thing more exciting than a Snow Day, is 2 Snow Days! I hope everyone got outside and enjoyed the snow and some real Michigan, winter weather. This weekend has been lovely too for fun outdoor play.
For the first time in a very long time, we had all students in attendance on Friday! It was wonderful having everyone here. I hope the trend continues 😀.
The information for the 100th Day Project went home last week. This is a fun activity for our kindergartners that shows how much 100 is in a real way. It can be as simple as 100 beans, pieces of pasta, etc. jPlease help guide your child with this, but allow him/her to do most of the work. Particularly the counting. Counting 10 groups of 10 is the easiest way for kindergartners to do this. Doing the projects for the students tells them that you don't think they can do a good enough job. Each of them is able to do a great, kindergarten job. Projects may be brought to school Wed. or Thurs. 2/9-10. We will celebrate our 100th day on Friday 2/11!!
If you would like your child to exchange valentines, be sure to use the sheet of names and numbers I sent home last week. It is important that these labels are used so the children are able to match them to their classmates Valentines bag (We will make these at school this week). I have extra name sheets if you need another one.
This from Mrs. Bacolor in the Media Center:
We used BookFlix with your students a few times in January. Accessing the site at school should not be a problem as it connects with the IP address. However, at home, students need to sign in with a username and password. Since some students were asking about how to use this at home, we thought we'd send the login information out to you again in case you'd like to share it with your families.

Snack and Leaders
Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

Due to allergies, please refrain from sending snacks that contain any kind of nut. If you are able to send Gluten free snacks that would be great too. Thank you!
We will snack in the morning each day. It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day. Thank you for sending a leak-proof water bottle with your child each day.
