Week of February 14

Kindergarten Connection

Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa

Last Week

Our 100th day was so much fun! The kiddos did so well explaining their projects to the class. We were told whose idea it was, who helped with the project, who did the counting of the objects and how the objects were counted. Most counted 10 groups of 10, some by ones to 100 and some counted 2 groups of 50. That is what is so great about Math, there are always many ways to get the correct answers.

Our party was great too! We each made a 100th Day crown, built structures with 100 Solo cups, wrote our numbers to 100, wrote about what we would do if we had $100, drew 100 objects and even counted and enjoyed 100 pieces of snack!! We love Math!!! A huge thank you goes out to the parents who made this happen. We couldn't do it without you 😊.

Snack and Leaders

Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

Due to allergies, please refrain from sending snacks that contain any kind of nut. If you are able to send Gluten free snacks that would be great too. Thank you!

We will snack in the morning each day. It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day.  Thank you for sending a leak-proof water bottle with your child each day.

Next Week

Monday is Valentines (Kindness) Day! Our V-day volunteer team is all set for us to celebrate how much we care about each other with a party. How about that?!....2 parties in a row!

If you would like your child to exchange valentines, be sure to use the sheet of names and numbers I sent home last week. It is important that these labels are used so the children are able to match them to their classmates Valentines bag (already made by the children). I can send you another name sheet electronically if you need one. Just let me know.

Mrs. Osborn will be our Guest Reader on Wed. 2/16. Please come at 3:15 and bring 2 or 3 books to read to the class. We love this time!

Remember that there is no school on Friday 2/18 or Monday 2/21 due to winter break.

Enjoy your time off.
