Week of March 14

Kindergarten Connection

Your child's week with Mrs. DeLapa

Last Week

We had a busy and fun week! Our author visit on Wednesday was amazing! I hope your child told you about Marc Tyler Nobleman and his wonderful presentation. Every student was engaged the entire time. He was interesting and quite funny. Be sure to ask if you haven't heard about this.

We had a tornado drill on Thursday. There was a bit of a twist for the class because they were in Art class at the time. It was good for them to learn what to do from places other than our classroom. They all did a very nice job.

Please make note that we now have 26 students for snack each day. Thank you!

Snack and Leaders

Your child will come home with the Leader bag the night before his/her leader day. There is a notebook inside with directions for sharing both a snack with the class and a Show and Tell item. Please refer to the calendar in the back of your child's take home folder for leader and other important dates.

Due to allergies, please refrain from sending snacks that contain any kind of nut. If you are able to send Gluten free snacks that would be great too. Thank you!

We will snack in the morning each day. It is not necessary for you to send a snack with your child, as the leader provides it each day.  Thank you for sending a leak-proof water bottle with your child each day.

The Positivity Project trait next week is Love of Learning. One with a Love of Learning masters new skills and topics on his/her own or in school.

Mrs. Wells will be our Guest Reader on Wed. 3/16. Please come at 3:15 and bring 2 or 3 books to read to the class. We can't wait!

For our March Reading Madness Tournament of Books we will be listening to many books and voting on which we like best. This coincides nicely with our Opinion writing unit in Writer's Workshop. Feel free to listen/watch these at home as well read by some really cool people 😀.

As part of Reading month, Friday we will wear clothes with words on them (this is voluntary of course).
